Student Ministries Director at Grove City Alliance Church

-- 845 North Liberty Rd. Grove City, PA

MINISTRY SUMMARY

Grove City Alliance Church is a thriving community of broken people walking together to experience deeper life in Christ. Impacting generations is one of our core values. It is our desire to see the upcoming generation reached with the Gospel of Christ, equipped to serve Him, and unleashed to impact the world – both near and far.

The student ministry at GCAC is a well-established program. Over the last twenty-five years it has grown from 5 students to over 100 students in 6th-12th grades. Our student ministry exists to be a safe harbor for students to grapple with the inward journey in Christ by experiencing upward worship and engaging in outward mission while moving onward together in community.

The vision of our student ministry works hand in hand with the direction of the church. The pastoral staff and ministry staff of Grove City Alliance Church work closely together as a team. The children, student, and college-aged ministries have worked in tandem for many years.

This is our strategy of student ministry offerings:

  • Grounded (Sunday School) | Sundays, 11:00 AM-Noon (3rd Service)
  • High School Ministry | Sundays, 6:30-8:30 PM
  • High School Small Groups | Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30 PM (November-April)
  • Middle School Ministry | Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 PM

Sunday and Thursday evenings are our two main crowd programs. They are intentionally planned to be a front door to our ministry – welcoming unchurched students. We have averaged 48 HS students and 47 MS students in recent days.

The majority of our HS students are involved in our HS SG offerings on Tuesday evenings where they connect on some much deeper topics with peers and two adult leaders who walk them through their HS years. MS SGs occur within the Thursday evening programming.

Grounded meets Sunday mornings during the school year from 11:00 AM-Noon. There are opportunities for students to mingle together, worship together, and then break into two MS classes and our HS class for Bible Study and application. During the summer months, we transition Sunday morning to Oasis Summer and have a combined time for fellowship, worship, and teaching.

A rotation of summer mission trips has been established for both MS & HS students to encounter Jesus deeply, understand how God has created them, and experience God’s heart for the world.

Our student ministry works as a team and our Student Ministry Director is the team leader. There are close to 30 adult volunteer leaders helping in one or more of our student ministry offerings. We have hired three college interns to help bring added creativity and to help implement each ministry night effectively. Additionally, a 28-hour a week administrative assistant bolsters our student ministry staff.
