Connections Pastor

CrossBridge Alliance is a missions-oriented C&MA church in Wyoming’s largest city, serving a growing tech and military community. 2. ROLE SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Connections Pastor is to connect people to God, the CrossBridge congregation, and the broader community through discipleship, ministry development, teaching, and partnership. This role is all about building relationships.

3. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Connection Structures: Design and implement effective systems to help people move from first-time guests to actively engaged members, facilitating their spiritual journey and involvement in church life.
  • Develop pathways for long-time attenders to become connected to new and existing ministries.
  • Team Development: Recruit, equip, and oversee volunteer leaders to foster a culture of discipleship and connection. Provide ongoing training and encouragement to volunteers.
  • Relational Ministry: Build authentic relationships with individuals and families, offering pastoral care and guidance.
  • Program Oversight: Provide oversight for discipleship programs such as small groups, classes, and mentoring initiatives. Evaluate and improve processes for spiritual formation and leadership development.
  • Pastor, train & recruit Small Group leaders.
  • Arrange discipleship resources for Small Groups & Classes.
  • Work alongside Lead Pastor to identify and develop people’s gifts and passions, giving opportunities to serve.
  • Be a highly visible, welcoming and friendly presence at church gatherings and in the community as able.

4. OTHER EXPECTATIONS

  • Teaching and Preaching: Able to teach during Sunday worship gatherings as needed, delivering biblically grounded messages.
  • Outreach and Community Engagement: Identify opportunities to connect with and reach out to those in the local community who may not currently attend church. Develop bridges between the church and the broader region.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other ministry staff, elders, and leaders to create a cohesive discipleship strategy that integrates with worship, outreach, and care ministries.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with volunteers and church members, and manage ministry budgets as appropriate.

5. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • General alignment with the Christian & Missionary Alliance’s Statement of Faith and our mission.
  • A mature, Spirit-filled Christian with a strong passion and love for people.
  • Life-long learner, outgoing, personable, and highly relational.
  • Experience in developing and overseeing effective volunteer teams.
  • Effective motivator of self, leaders and teams.
  • Able to develop effective structures to accomplish the task of connecting people with church ministries.
  • Able to work in partnership with other ministry leaders and administrative staff.
  • Formal theological training a plus, not required.
  • Must be licensed or ordained with Christian & Missionary Alliance, or willing to become so.
