Church Location Description: Harrisburg is a strategic location in central Pennsylvania with affordable housing. This riverfront capital city offers diverse ministry opportunities, strong community connections, and four beautiful seasons. Community Alliance Church is located in Lawnton, a quiet, diverse suburb on the east shore of the greater Harrisburg area.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Experience with solid Bible-based expositional and topical preaching. Diligence in teaching the Word of God as written in an informative and accessible way.
• Ability to communicate with people effectively and comfortably—meet people where they are in conversation, meaningfully communicate goals, give words of encouragement, and speak the life of the Gospel to those who are searching.
• Deeply rooted in prayer and intercession. Ability to lead a church in an understanding of and reliance on prayer personally and corporately.
• Ability to promote spiritual growth in a congregation with a renewed importance on growing hearts for the lost and taking action.
• Ability to create a path for newcomers to become more connected in friendship and faith.
• Ability to shepherd young adults and a desire for diversity in the congregation.
• Must be a humble leader who can demonstrate a sense of humor, compassion, deep friendship, connectedness, and laughter.
• Must be capable of interacting, loving, and extending God’s grace to individuals with cognitive, mental, and physical disabilities.

Minimum Credential Level: Must be willing to complete the Alliance accreditation process

Minimum Years of Experience: 2-4 Years as Staff Pastor

Compensation Type: Full-time salary with health benefits

The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate can develop people well, call people toward a common vision, communicate God’s Word effectively, and equip CAC to engage their community.

Church Size: 75 people on an average Sunday service

Chruch Setting: Suburbs

Church History: CAC first purchased a small church building in 2008. In December 2017, God blessed them with an opportunity to purchase a new, larger building on the same block with all but zero impact on their budget. They could absolutely see the hand of God at work. In 2014, the church successfully transitioned from its founding pastor. And now, CAC is transitioning peacefully again as their pastor is planning to move to another state for personal reasons.

Church Vision: CAC’s mission is to encourage and equip people to love God, love neighbors, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
