Associate Pastor - Reynoldsburg, OH

The Cross Walk Church (C&MA) in Reynoldsburg, OH is seeking to hire a full-time Associate Pastor to assist the Lead Pastor in leading the church. This Associate Pastor will oversee Adult and Young Adult Ministries at CWC. They will focus on discipling and equipping our church family to grow deeper in spiritual maturity as well as mobilizing the church family to engage our local community.

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing ministry strategies and structures. They should be a good communicator and have strong gifts in administration and people development. This individual will provide direct leadership to Adult Discipleship and Young Adult ministries at the church working with establishing leaders to cast and implement a clear vision. They will also provide administrative leadership to the Live2Serve care team, Youth ministry, the finance team, and trustees. Other pastoral care, teaching, and ministry needs will be assigned in accordance with the unique gifts of the candidate.

Accountability

This position reports to the Lead Pastor and will work closely with staff and leadership to help form and implement the vision for ministry at CWC.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in developing discipleship systems (preferably for adults).
  • Experience in developing other leaders
  • Excellent communicator
  • Excellent people skills
  • Proficient in administrative and organizational skills
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Hold a degree in a ministry-related field of study (preferred); ministry experience will be taken into consideration.
  • Has 2-3 years of full-time church ministry experience
  • Is in agreement with C&MA theology and polity and is willing to pursue accreditation.

Salary and Benefits:

  • This is a full-time position requiring 40-45 hours per week.
  • Salary range: $32,000-$42,000 – commensurate with experience.

Specific Responsibilities:

Developing a Discipleship Culture (60%) – Ensuring that adults and youth are developed into fully devoted followers of Jesus who are helping others find and follow Jesus too.

  • Identify, disciple, and develop leaders who will assist in church wide discipleship initiatives.
  • Develop and implement an Adult Discipleship strategy (including)
    • Oversee small group ministry and leaders.
    • Implement strategy to help discipleship happen in the home.
  • Develop and lead Young Adult Ministry and Leadership Team (including)
    • Develop a new ministry for young adults in the local community.
    • Assimilate new and existing young adults into the life of the church.
  • Support and coordinate with Youth Director to strengthen Youth discipleship.
  • Support and assist with event-based ministries in coordination with other staff and volunteers.

Assimilation and Care (20%) – Ensuring that every person who visits The Cross Walk Church feels welcomed and work to help those who return get connected to the life of the church.

  • Oversee Life2Serve Team (including)
    • Developing and supporting the current volunteer team leader.
  • Develop strong connections between Life2Serve mission and discipleship strategy.
  • Implementing an assimilation strategy that helps visitors become attendees and that helps attendees become committed disciples.

General Pastoral Responsibilities (20%) – Sharing the responsibility to shepherd and care for the congregation alongside the Lead Pastor.

  • Preaching and Teaching
    • Preach approximately one time per month.
    • Lead/Teach groups and classes as needed.
  • Pastoral Care
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for general Young Adult pastoral care.
    • Assist with funerals and weddings as needed
    • Assist with general pastoral visitation (home, hospital, etc.) as needed
  • Assist with the general administrative needs of the church (including)
    • Oversee and support the head trustee.
    • Oversee and support the church treasurer.
    • Oversee and support the Youth Director.
