Youth Ministries Director
New River Church in Manchester, CT, is a Christ-centered, discipleship-focused community and an accredited church with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Our vision is to overflow with the life of Jesus, transforming our communities with His love. The four pillars of our mission are to enjoy Jesus, encourage people, equip disciple-makers, and engage culture. Our philosophy of ministry to young people is simple. We believe parents are the first line of authority in their children’s lives. Parents have the privilege and responsibility of discipling their children in the ways of Jesus. It is our privilege as ministers to do all we can to support that relationship.
We are seeking a Director of Youth Ministries to oversee our entire student ministries department, from infants through grade 12. You will work with the directors of each ministry to develop a discipleship plan for each age group, and you will meet regularly with the ministry leaders for the purpose of support, shepherding, and their personal and leadership development. You will enlist and equip volunteers & leaders; manage the ministry budget, manage supplies and snacks, and coordinate special events. You will be the director for River Kids, and this will include managing the curriculum, scheduling teachers and helpers, and resourcing the teachers with printed and digital materials for each lesson.
We are seeking a candidate who is passionate for God and knowing him more, and is self-motivated to serve Jesus and share Gods’ word. Candidates should be gifted in administration, leadership and hospitality, with a demonstrated ability to make disciples and work with people. Must be able to work flexible hours as needed, handle confidential matters and material with integrity, and navigate digital church management platforms.
