The director of Student and Music Ministries at Hillside Community Church will offer spiritual leadership, direction, and vision to student ministries, as well as help organize and lead the music ministries for our Sunday services. This role will work closely and collaboratively with the Lead Pastor and other staff members as we seek to motivate, encourage, and equip our church family to grow in their commitment to Christ, His Word, and His Mission.
Student Ministries Responsibilities
Lead the Sunday student services and mid-week programming through biblical teaching, engaging relationships, and volunteer organization.
Disciple students and parents through engaging personal interactions, Bible centered content, and fun activities.
Plan opportunities for students to grow in their love for Christ and others through events, activities, retreats, camps, and service projects.
Recruit, equip, and empower volunteers to lead small group based mid-week programming to help students grow and bind to the church community at large.
Collaborate with the Hillside staff to provide church programming that engages students and parents to serve the church and reach the community.
Music Ministries Responsibilities
Lead music at our Sunday services through the recruiting, equipping, and scheduling of our volunteer musicians.
Disciple band members through engaging personal interactions, Bible centered musical content, and fun activities.
Collaborate with the Lead Pastor, Tech Director, and other Hillside staff to provide excellent music programming that engages attenders and exalts Christ.
Personal Requirements
A mature and growing personal relationship with Jesus.
Regular practice of spiritual disciplines.
Exhibits the fruit of the Spirit.
Strong relationship skills and a team player.
A person of integrity who has a good reputation with those inside and outside of the church.
Knowledge/Gifting/Skills/Abilities/Experience
Strong abilities and experience in equipping leaders and working with teams.
Ability to connect relationally with parents and students.
Musically talented and ability to lead volunteer bands is a must.
Good teaching ability and communication skills.
Proven ability to develop and implement organizational strategy.
A willingness and ability to pioneer new things and inspire others to new initiatives.
3+ years of experience in Youth or Music ministry preferred.
Bible College or equivalent would be an asset.
Compensation
Full time salaried position negotiable depending on experience
