At Upper St. Clair Alliance, our mission is, “To know and show the transforming love of Jesus to our
neighbors and the nations.” Through the recent Pastoral Church Survey, our local church family has
indicated a desire to call a pastor who places a high priority on Biblical preaching/teaching,
intercessory prayer, and is a strong leader and vision caster. We desire to call a pastor who is
approachable and friendly and is able to counsel our church leaders and our church family members in
how to best minister to those who are in need and hurting. We want our new pastor to be a “teacher of
teachers” working with the elders to equip the congregation to grow and serve. For example, in the
recent survey, “community outreach/involvement” was ranked as the top opportunity for our
congregation, although the Community Leader role received a rank of 10 of 12. This role is supposed
to include more guidance/teaching from the pastor, rather than being a direct leader in the community.
