This is an opportunity to step into a transformative role as the Pastor of Worship and Connections at Calvary Alliance Church, where you have the opportunity to lead and coordinate worship and help people connect with God and each other. This person has worship oversight and will spearhead group ministry at Calvary.
Worship Leadership
- Develop and implement a worship set that resonates with the congregation and helps people connect with God.
- Engage in continuous personal and professional growth for worship ministry.
- Model a healthy spiritual life (regular rhythms of prayer, quiet time, rest, servanthood).
- Serve as a beacon of faith and character, helping worship team members and the congregation to live passionately for Jesus through your example.
- Oversee the creative use of technology in services and special events to enhance worship and engagement.
Connections Leadership
- Create and implement a strategy for developing and nurturing small groups within the church, ensuring alignment with Calvary’s vision.
- You will recruit, train, and support small group leaders, providing them with the resources and guidance needed to lead effectively.
- With your leadership, you’ll assist first time visitors assimilate into church life.
- Develop a framework that facilitates and enhances Calvary’s discipleship pathway, helping people grow in love for God and each other.
Team Development
- Worship: You will lead, manage, and equip worship and tech teams, helping team members develop both musically and spiritually.
- Actively seek out and develop new talent, building a strong, enthusiastic, and cohesive worship team.
- Groups: You will be a team builder for a small group culture, helping people move toward each other in relationship.
- Develop a framework to see groups multiply at CAC.
Church Engagement and Collaboration
- Work closely with the staff and lead pastor to plan weekly services that are cohesive and impactful.
- Ensure worship team members have the chord sheets and resources they need to succeed.
- Conduct team training, rehearsals, and manage team coordination to ensure an effective and enthusiastic team of volunteers.
- Choose music and worship elements that fit Calvary Alliance Church.
- Play an active role in shaping the strategic planning process as it relates to strategy, worship, and groups for Calvary Alliance Church.
- Embody Calvary’s mission, vision, and values within the church and the broader community.
Qualifications
- A love for Jesus and a love for the local church.
- Strong foundation in leading with integrity, modeling Christlikeness and hospitality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to connect with diverse groups and ages.
- Creative thinker, proactive, teachable, and humble with a visionary approach to ministry leadership.
- Proficiency in vocals and instrument(s).
- A team player and contributor to staff culture.
- Working technical knowledge of ProPresenter, Planning Center, and Google tools.
- Prior experience in leading worship in some capacity.
- Must be willing to be licensed within the C&MA.
Commitment
- Participation in weekly staff meetings, weekly 1:1s, and a contributing part of the church is expected.
- Aside from Sunday mornings, is willing to lead the church in worship in other related functions, such as Calvary’s Place (bi-weekly Mondays in fall/spring) and First Wednesday (1x month) midweek gatherings.
- Occasionally assist in preaching and other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
