Purpose & Vision

The purpose of the Student Ministries Pastor is to lead youth (Grades 6-12) and college ministries by making disciples, building community, empowering them in becoming like Christ, and reaching the unreached.

Responsibilities (This description is intentionally ministry oriented, not program oriented.)

  • Design, develop, and lead effective youth and college ministries integrated with the entire QCAC family. Bilingual preferred – Mandarin or Spanish.
  • Seek – seek youth and college who are lost – reach nonbelievers for Christ – bring them to faith in Christ.
  • Build – build up youth and college believers – help believers advance in their faith and the knowledge of God’s Word and the empowerment of the Spirit – raise up disciples who will make disciples.
  • Equip – equip youth workers – train believers to be doers of the Word both inside and outside the church – coach, mentor, shepherd, and train workers.
  • Send – send out youth and college leaders to serve and lead others – challenge believers to participate actively in God’s work worldwide – send out proven multipliers.
  • Attend English worship services – meet with students for their youth service/gathering.

Relationships

  • Accredited with the C&MA.
  • Work closely with, report to, and be accountable to the Executive Pastor of Ministries.
  • Serve in tandem with the QCAC pastors, staff, leaders, and congregations.
  • Be ultimately responsible to the QCAC governance authority.
  • Attend staff meetings whenever possible.
  • Submit a monthly report to the Elders/Governing Board and an annual report to the congregation.

Remuneration

  • The Student Ministries Pastor is currently a part-time, paid position for 20 hours/week with a long-term goal of becoming a full-time paid position with health benefits.
  • First review in five months.
