Job Description: Paradise Alliance Church is seeking our next Lead Pastor. We are searching for someone who is committed to Christ and passionate about shepherding his bride. Our ideal candidate is someone who will provide spiritual care and leadership for our church, oversee multiple ministries and develop their respective leaders, work alongside staff and elders to minister to our church and community. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in care and leadership development, fostering a culture of health and growth. As an Alliance church, our ideal candidate has missions experience (serving or leading) and has a heart and track record of reaching the lost. Our church is looking to realign our mission’s priority with our denomination and be a force for Kingdom expansion once again.
Key Responsibilities:
· Preaching and Teaching: Prepare and deliver biblically sound, engaging sermons that inspire growth and minister to the church body.
· Leadership and Vision: Learning the church’s and community’s needs and casting vision to inspire spiritual growth, encourage discipleship, and minister to a rebuilding and rapidly growing community that desperately needs to know the Lord Jesus.
· Shepherding and Care: Minister to our church body and provide care, counseling, and discipleship. Lead the way in discipleship by modeling a heart for discipleship and loving others.
· Staff and Ministry Development: Work alongside staff (currently 2 admin support staff, 2 maintenance staff, and 1 pastor who oversees ministry for ages birth-18 years old). Develop the current ministries and the volunteers/staff who lead them.
· Administrative Work: Oversee and lead day to day church and office operations. This includes vision for our online presence, managing budget, church branding, and working alongside staff and volunteers for each Sunday service.
· Maintain a Healthy Relationship with the C&MA District: We are part of the Central Pacific District and the Lead Pastor maintains health, transparency, and support for the district and denomination. We are a developing church seeking accreditation in our district.
Church & Town History: Paradise Alliance Church was established in 1955 and has been serving the community and making disciples ever since. We have had significant growth and impact over the years. However, due to the devastation suffered by the Camp Fire of 2018 and recent changes in leadership, our church is pursuing efforts to rebuild health in our church body and in our resilient community. We have remained a beacon of hope and support as we seek to grow our town (Currently 10,000 people). Our community is growing significantly. We are a church with average attendance of 160. Our facility that can accommodate several hundred. There is a very important opportunity to reach young families who move to Paradise seeking affordable housing. We anticipate that family outreach and holistic discipleship will be paramount to our church’s growth.
Compensation: Salary Negotiable, health insurance, vacation.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a ministry-related field (Theology, ministry, Christian leadership, Christian studies etc.) or a non-ministry Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 30 credit hours of Bible and ministry studies.
Minimum Credential Level: C&MA Accredited and Ordained preferred OR, willing to be accredited before candidacy and completion of ordination within 2 years of placement.
Minimum Ministry Experience: 5+ years of staff pastor experience, team leadership experience, and proven experience in disciple-making
