Job Description: Children matter to God and are highly valued at CFC. The Community Kids Coordinator ensures the health and growth of the Community Kids Nursery Ministry and is directly responsible for Nursery Ministry leadership, scheduling and leadership in the department so that children and young people are shepherded toward a full life in Jesus Christ.

Core Outcomes:

  • Recruitment: A culture of spiritual maturity, active ownership, and high retention is established through effective recruitment and intentional onboarding that supports the safety policy and procedures established in the Community Kids Ministry.
  • Empower the team: Community Kids team leaders feel supported, mentored, and consistently connected to the core mission and purpose of the ministry.
  • Parent Communication: Parents are communicated with on a regular basis, and systems are updated to reflect accurate child information in our kids programs.

Weekend Ministry Leadership ( Infants - 1 Year Olds):

  • Weekend Serving Commitment: The Community Kids Nursery Coordinator supervises or serves in Community Kids programming at least 4- 6 services per month.
  • Weekend Operations Management: The logistics of weekend services runs efficiently, with optimized scheduling, proactive problem-solving, and a highly visible leadership presence that supports both volunteers and families.
  • Scheduling: Execute seamless weekend experiences by managing schedules, ensuring all classrooms are fully staffed.
  • Safety & Compliance: A secure environment is maintained where child protection policies and safety protocols are strictly enforced without exception for volunteers and families at CFC.
  • Childcare Oversight: Ensures adequate staffing, safety, and training for paid childcare needs at internal Community Kids events ensuring all procedures align with CFC policy.

Department Leadership:

  • Environment & Sanitization: Maintain a benchmark of excellence in cleanliness by leading a team to sanitize toys and equipment weekly. Areas are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment, issues are addressed quickly..
  • Data Integrity: Manage accurate, up-to-date databases to ensure efficient inter-team processes and clear communication with parents.
  • Event Collaboration: Partner with the broader Community Kids Team to deliver successful special events (e.g., Kids Camp, Block Parties, Holiday Events).
    Resource Stewardship: Manage the nursery budget with accuracy and ensure all rooms are fully stocked and functional.
  • Collaborative Synergy: Contribute to a high-trust, unified staff culture through active participation in bi-weekly meetings and ongoing professional development.
    Team Relations: A positive, collaborative environment exists between the Early Childhood Coordinator, Nursery Coordinator, Community Kids Director and interns
  • Professional Development: The Nursery Coordinator participates in ongoing professional development through attending workshops, reading and networking.
  • The Nursery Coordinator meets bi-weekly with the Community Kids Director.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Spiritual Maturity: Maintains a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear, demonstrated commitment to the mission of seeing lives transformed by the Gospel.
  • Biblical Literacy: Possesses a strong foundation in Scripture with the ability to effectively communicate God’s story in an age-appropriate, engaging manner for children.
  • Theological Alignment: Maintains active, philosophical, and theological alignment with the vision of CFC and the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) denomination.
  • Ministry Experience: A background in children’s ministry, education, or volunteer leadership is preferred.
  • Professional Aptitude: Demonstrates exceptional communication skills, unwavering reliability, and a collaborative, team-first posture.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competency in digital administrative tools (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office) and a functional understanding of AV/computer operations for weekend environments and online scheduling
  • Physical Requirements: The ability to stand or walk for extended periods during services and the capacity to lift or move ministry equipment up to 40 lbs

Work Hours: Part Time (12 hours), Nonexempt

Minimum Years of Experience: 1-5 years of volunteer church experience

Church Size: 1000 Avg. Sunday Attendance

Church Setting: Small City
