First Alliance Church of Silver Spring, MD is looking for someone to fill a full-time position to serve a multi-cultural community … helping different people come together and be “better together” in the name of Jesus Christ - anticipating the picture painted for us in Revelation 7:9.

Worship Responsibilities

• Lead/coordinate our weekend music ministry in sync with the preaching team of the church.
• Recruit instrumentalists and vocalists to serve each week and facilitate weekly practices.
• Oversee the selection of songs and genres of music that include the breadth of cultures in our church community, incorporating them together for the glory of God.
• Spend routine time building relationships with families in the church to so that the worship ministry invites people into the presence of God as a community of believers and seekers.

Community Outreach Responsibilities

• Lead/coordinate our community outreach ministries including things like monthly food distributions, an inhouse food pantry and practical, need based classes (i.e., Financial Fitness, English, etc.)
• Implement a “follow-up” ministry for people that respond to our community outreach and for people that come to one of our church services.
• Carry out other duties as assigned including but not limited to preaching, teaching, visitation, communion, baptisms, etc.
• Note: “lead/coordinate” implies ultimate responsibility, but also the ability to work with and delegate to others, developing leaders along the way.
