Associate Pastor - Milaca Alliance Church, Milaca, MN

Overview:

Milaca Alliance Church in Milaca, MN, is seeking an associate pastor to come alongside the senior pastor and elders to lead their church in their desire to carry the gospel to all people. Because of who He is and what He’s done, we are compelled to “go!” Humbled by the open invitation He extends to us—what we call the Great Commission—we join Him in His work to restore and reconcile lost and broken people to Himself.

Primary Responsibility:

  • Youth/Teen Leadership

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Degree in theology or appropriate educational or practical experience, with the goal of becoming ordained in the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination.

  • Commitment to personal evangelism and living missionally

  • Preferred experience working in a rural setting, developing Christ centered relationships

  • Strong reliance on the Holy Spirit in both personal and professional life

  • Agreement with doctrinal statement of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Denomination

  • Alignment with Milaca Alliance Church vision and values

Essential Characteristics/Job Functions:

  • Leadership: Work with the leadership team to establish a Christ centered community in the church, while helping to establish a strategy for reaching the lost and impacting the community. Be capable of leading roles within several ministries of the church. Desirable areas may include helping to establish and develop Worship, Children, Youth, and Outreach ministries. Be capable of casting vision and operate/lead within that vision.

  • Self-Starter: Be proficient in time management, prioritizing workload, and accomplishing goals. Be proactive in self-development. Assume the posture of a learner.

  • Team Player: Participate as one of seven people on the Elder Board leadership team. Work to create a consensus. Be willing to submit to the decision of the group.

  • Communicator/Teacher: Practice solid communication skills across many different levels of the organization. Be capable of preaching and teaching in a variety of settings.

  • Mobilizer/Community Relationship: Work with the leadership team to help the church build relationships with those in the local community (bridge builder). Connect and serve with local organizations in the community. Help establish a culture of missional transformation. Be willing to lead by example.

  • Personal: Establish a Sabbath day and be held accountable for it. Maintain a healthy balance between ministry, family life, and other responsibilities. Be willing to engage in other duties as assigned.

Church Location Description:

  • Milaca Alliance Church has celebrated over 100 years of serving the local Milaca community as well as overseas missions. The city of Milaca is located approximately 60 miles northwest of the Twin Cities along the beautiful Rum River and has a unique culture of rural living.

Compensation package:

  • Full-time salary with health benefits, 403b retirement plan, vacation time, mileage reimbursement, expense account.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate is a person who is open to living and serving in a rural culture. They will also be willing to engage in ministry from a learning perspective, operating as an equal part of the dynamic pastoral leadership team, and developing the personal, relational, and leadership skills necessary to succeed in the role.

Church Information

  • MAC was established in 1920 with church meetings beginning in homes. Today, the average attendance is about 160 people with continued growth. The church has a steady presence of connecting and serving the local community as well as sending missionaries overseas.

  • MAC is a Spirit led and Gospel driven church. Our Pastors & Elders prayerfully commit our people, activities, and events to the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We also seek to share the Gospel with our community and beyond, through ministries for all ages to join.
