Senior Pastor

Department: Senior Pastor
Office: Mid-Atlantic

The Sunnyside family is a community of individuals who love God and love one another. We are a mixture of blue- and white-collar workers, from farmers and laborers to businessmen/women and medical professionals. The congregation is multi-generational, from toddlers to great-grand parents. We recently completed a $400,000 multi-year renovation of the church. During this time of waiting our Elders have led the congregation in active prayer and preparation as we seek Gods man for this next season.

Our purpose is to exalt Jesus Christ by making disciples who: Love Jesus, grow with others, serve the world, and make other disciples. Grow, Share, and Multiply

Vision
Our plan is to relentlessly pursue the unchurched within our reach both near and far.

Location
Sunnyside Alliance church is located on the waters of Maryland’s beautiful Eastern Shore, nestled in farm country between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. While there are plenty of popular chain store and restaurants, you will find an even greater number of local, unique shops, attractions and places to eat. When you’re not out on a boat, in the field, or eating a delicious meal, there is plenty to do locally such as downtown shopping, the movie theatre, hunting of all varieties, sightseeing of local, historic sites such as the lighthouse and even a newly erected Harriet Tubman Museum. While we are in a quiet rural setting, you can easily reach the beach at Ocean City, Maryland or the endless cultural activities of Washington, DC in just over an hour.

Spiritual Needs
Secretary has three active churches within the town, one being of catholic denomination, one being Methodist and lastly Sunnyside Christian and Missionary Alliance. As a part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, Sunnyside is strongly missions focused both internationally as well as in our local community. In our church locality we have a few untapped and growing communities including young families, home educators, and the Latino population. We host Boy Scouts, Alcoholics Anonymous, and our own food pantry and clothing closet. We have active Nursery and Children’s Church ministries to serve our young families. For the majority of the past 20 years there has been a thriving youth group, with a full time Youth Pastor, serving the young adults from Dorchester County from grade 6 to 12 through weekly meetings, community events, retreats, and missions' trips. Our prayer is that our new Senior Pastor will help us recruit a second full time staff member soon after his arrival.

Qualities of a Pastor

• The successful candidate will need to submit to the doctrine and authority of the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination.
