Lead Pastor - Gateway Alliance Church, Sidney NY

Gateway Alliance Church, established in 1941, is a congregation nestled in the heart of Sidney, NY, within picturesque Delaware County. This vibrant community of faith embodies the essence of an intergenerational congregation, boasting around 120 dedicated attendees. Sidney, itself, provides its residents with a tranquil suburban ambiance, where the majority proudly call their houses "home." This close-knit community has a significant presence of retirees and holds traditional values dear.

As it stands today, Gateway Alliance Church serves as a pivotal regional church. Sidney, with its population of 3,700, is a quintessential small town, yet its influence extends far beyond its borders, encompassing approximately 25,000 residents within a ten-mile radius.

Our church facility has undergone recent renovations, resulting in a modernized worship center, a welcoming fellowship area, and a dedicated children's wing, creating an inviting space for worship and community engagement. Moreover, we've made significant strides in enhancing our audio/visual capabilities, equipping us with the means to share our worship services through streaming, thereby reaching a wider audience and expanding our ministry impact.

We are in the process of seeking a new Lead Pastor following the departure of our former Lead Pastor of ten years. Currently, our church is being led by an Interim Lead Pastor, supported by the assistance of an administrative team.

We are asking the Lead Pastor to provide leadership in three major areas:

  1. Oversee the church's preaching and teaching ministry, ensuring alignment with the church's mission and values, fostering diverse teaching approaches, and promoting biblical literacy and spiritual development.

  1. Oversee the church's outreach ministry for a stronger Gospel impact in the community by crafting a focused outreach plan, working closely with teams and volunteers, establishing measurable outreach objectives, forging partnerships with local organizations, empowering the congregation for personal outreach, and adjusting strategies to meet evolving community needs.

  1. Oversee pastoral care by creating a team to address member needs, facilitate small group gatherings and counseling, cultivate a strong sense of community, lead with love, empathy, and compassion, and actively work towards conflict resolution and unity.

We are actively searching for a new Lead Pastor who will partner with our Governing Board and congregation to help shape and lead us toward an exciting and purposeful future, leveraging the strategic position where the Lord has established our church.
