Title of Position: Lead Pastor and Church Planter (Full-Time)

Name of Church: Missio Dei Alliance Church (in partnership with Lewisburg Alliance Church)

Church Location: Shamokin Dam, PA

Job Description: Missio Dei is a redeveloping church in Central PA that is partnering with another regional church, Lewisburg Alliance, to see their church replanted. This lead pastor position will start as a pastoral resident with Lewisburg Alliance before replanting Missio Dei.”

Church Location Description: Missio Dei is located alongside the beautiful Susquehanna River in the town of Shamokin Dam. The town sits on Routes 11 and 15 and its name is derived from a ten-foot-tall dam that was built across the Susquehanna River in the 1800s. The highway is a major travel artery through the region. As such, it is home to many of the shopping centers and commerce where people from nearby towns come to visit. It is a smaller town with a good family environment.

Compensation: Full-time Salary, Parsonage Available, Housing Allowance

Minimum Education Level: If necessary, must be willing to complete the Ministerial Study Program

Minimum Credential Level: Must be willing to complete the Alliance accreditation process

Minimum Years of Experience: The ideal candidate has proven experience leading change and making disciples.

• Skilled in communicating the Gospel and connecting it to every aspect of life
• Ability to mentor others in their commitment to follow Christ
• Gives focused attention to disciple well-rounded and effective leaders
• Ability to shepherd and create paths of opportunities for the congregation to engage with mission communities, outreach, and community events
• Willing to invest in understanding the local people, history, culture, and traditions

Church Size: Small (Less than 50 Avg. Sunday Attendance)

Church Setting: Small Town (Population of about 1,000-4,000)

Church Vision: Missio Dei desires to be a church that makes disciples that make disciples, raises up leaders, and plants churches.

Church History: The church historically existed as Shamokin Dam Alliance church since the 1970s. The church was put into redevelopment in 2021. The small group that meets together in the church is partnering with Lewisburg Alliance to replant and is seeking a new planter/pastor for this initiative.
