Children's Ministry Pastor/Director

Grace Church in Cleveland, Ohio is actively looking for a Children's Ministry Pastor.

Position Purpose

The Pastor of Children’s Ministry at Grace Church oversees the spiritual growth and discipleship for all children from 1st through the 6th grade. The position also works with parents and a volunteer team to help shepherd our children. This position will also oversee the staff team, including a Director of Early Childhood Ministries that works with birth through Kindergarten aged children.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee children’s ministry staff and volunteers.
  • Champion the mission and vision of Grace Church.
  • Coordinate Sunday Chapel service and Wednesday evening classes for children.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead weekly team meetings.
  • Recruit, onboard, disciple, train, and mentor volunteers.
  • Make sure that policies, and procedures are current and followed.
  • Coordinate outreach events (i.e. MH Fall Festival, BOTR, GK Outreach, etc.)
  • Oversee safety & security of ministry in addition to overseeing Sex Offender updates and communication.
  • Oversee all programming on Sundays, Wednesdays, & special events.
  • Oversee children’s ministry volunteers, ministry advocates, & GK welcome team.
  • Coordinate with adult ministries for parenting education.
  • Keep up church database and attendance for children’s classes
  • Guide vision for print material, web content, etc. for the ministry.
  • Research & implement curriculum across the ministry.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Proficiencies Needed:

Fun and creative.
Licensure in the C&MA, or willing to pursue.
Ability to lead & speak in large groups when necessary.
Proficient in various computer applications.
Self learner and driven.

Education Level:

  • College
  • In Alliance Accreditation Process

Required Experience:

  • Staff Pastor, Lay Pastor, or Volunteer
    • 1-5 years
