MIDAMERICA DISTRICT STAFF POSITION DESCRIPTION

District Executive Administrator

As a family of Christ-followers across a five-state district of The Christian and Missionary Alliance, we are seeking the evangelization of 19+ million people, the discipleship of those who respond, and the launching out of those who are ready to help carry the mission even further – even to the ends of the earth. This person will help serve the District to spur on this Kingdom Advancing work in and through our 60+ churches!

· Christ-follower in confession and lifestyle

· Practices regular rhythms of pursuing intimacy with God

· Striving to walk in full surrender to the Holy Spirit

· Possesses a clear sense that God is leading him/her into this particular ministry

  1. Other Qualifications:
  • Teachable spirit – willingness to be led, instructed, and corrected
  • Stable, healthy, growing marriage and family life (if applicable)
  • Takes initiative and proactively engages in the work of the District office
  • Embraces the vision and pursuits of the MidAmerica District Leadership Teams
  • Works hard, is disciplined, and strives for excellence in serving the Lord
  • Friendly, considerate, and able to carry polite, intentional conversation
  • Able and willing to hold matters in confidence
  • Good computer and media skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office; web-based applications (Trello, Jotform, etc.); ability to create different types of documents.

Responsibilities:

Overview: This person will primarily serve alongside the Superintendent of the MidAmerica District in an administrative and organizational way to help spur on the ministry of the District family. A list of sample tasks includes:

  1. Provide administrative oversight and logistical support for the District Executive Committee (Dexcom), District Conference, and District Retreat
  2. Host events as needed
  3. Serve as the point of contact for all administrative/organizational questions from churches, pastors, vendors, and other officials
  4. Arrange travel for district staff
  5. Administer personnel assessments (IDAK, SDI, APEST, etc.)
  6. Maintain policies and policy statements (i.e. bylaws, insurance, property needs, etc.)
  7. Track receipts and expenses for senior staff
  8. Oversee the office – usage, needs, supplies, etc.
  9. Track and maintain records as needed
  10. Participate in staff meetings

Other Matters of Consideration:

  • This is a 40 hours per week position.
  • A regular schedule of working hours will be established after hiring.
  • Staff meetings and trainings will be required as much as possible.
  • Vacation time (4 weeks annually; non-cumulative), retirement matching (50% match up to 5% if participating in C&MA plan), and individual health insurance (or compensation increase if insurance is not needed) will be offered.
  • Other areas of service and obligations will be developed over time. This necessitates a very teachable spirit, a willingness to be led and to adjust to changes. As time goes on, the above position will be adjusted according to the needs of the ministry as a whole.

Accountability and Evaluation

A. Accountability

  • This position will be responsible to the District Superintendent.
  • Must be willing to be held accountable in personal matters as well as employment matters and must be willing to yield to the guidance of the District Superintendent.

B. Evaluation

  • After the first 90 days of employment there will be an evaluation done by District Superintendent.
  • After the first six months of employment there will be an evaluation by the District Superintendent.
  • At the conclusion of the first year of employment and on a yearly basis thereafter, a regular performance evaluation will be done by the District Superintendent.

C. Grievances

  • All concerns or grievances that arise should be directed to the District Superintendent.
  • If the grievance concerns the District Superintendent, it should be taken to the vice-chairman of the District Executive Committee.
